The VillageReach project aims to improve health outcomes in several African countries by enhancing the capacity of national health systems to rapidly and reliably transport patient samples to laboratories for diagnosis and promptly respond to outbreaks.

This integrated approach ensures early detection, saves lives, and reduces the burden on fragile health systems. VillageReach collaborates with governments and partners to strengthen their capacity to prevent, detect, report, and respond to public health threats. The project employs the Community Insights to Action (CITA) approach, involving community feedback to ensure action is taken. By improving health systems, training health workers, and ensuring quick and reliable transport of lab samples, the project seeks to create resilient communities and stop outbreaks in their tracks.
