Sub-Saharan Africa experiences 24% of the global disease burden but has only 3% of its health workforce. With Takeda’s support, Seed Global Health will partner with Ministries of Health, academic institutions, hospitals, and health clinics to launch new academic programs in OB/GYN and neonatal emergency care, establish three locally-led centers of excellence for maternal and neonatal health, provide service training and delivery, and graduate 5,900 qualified health professionals ready to serve their communities.

The program will Improve healthcare quality through transformed, accredited training and mentorship for new qualified healthcare professionals while working with governments to strengthen health systems, enhance pandemic readiness, and promote climate resilience.
